Apple Watch Series 7: Here are all the Colors and Official Band Options

Apple revealed the Apple Watch Series 7 back in September 2021, during its California Streaming event. One thing you’ll notice about the Apple Watch Series 7 is the abundance of colors and band options it comes in. That’s not to mention that it comes in both 41mm and 45mm screen sizes. So we have broken down the available customizations to help you choose.

Apple Watch Series 7: Casing Options

The first thing you need to know before buying the Apple Watch 7 is that you need to first decide which material and consequent finish you want on the main body. The choice of material affects the weight of the watch module, its color and shine, and also have some minor effects on durability. And of course, different materials are also priced differently.

Aluminum

The Aluminum Apple Watch is the cheapest and most popular model. It’s built from recycled, durable aluminum, and it comes in five color options. You can choose from Blue, Midnight, Starlight, Green, and (PRODUCT) RED. Despite it being the cheapest model, the material it’s made from has a relatively premium look and feel to it. Its price starts at $399 in the US.

Stainless Steel

The Stainless Steel Apple Watch comes with a higher price tag for the added shine and durability it brings. It looks more premium than the Aluminum model, but it comes in fewer color options. You can choose from Silver, Gold, and Graphite. These colors have a more formal vibe to them, compared to some of the “fun” Aluminum colors. Its price starts at $699 in the US.

    The Stainless Steel model is not as affordable, but it is more formal and durable. You can buy both 41mm and 45mm versions from Apple.

Titanium

The Titanium Apple Watch comes with the highest price tag, due to how strong the material is. It’s duller than the Stainless Steel models, but it can last longer under harsher conditions. It’s available in two colors only — Space Black and Titanium. Its price starts at $799 in the US. It’s worth mentioning that only the Apple Watch Edition is available in Titanium. The “Edition” is only a branding for the regular Apple Watch. It doesn’t offer any extras, except for the fact that it’s made out of titanium.

    The Titanium model is the most expensive, compared to Aluminum and Stainless Steel. However, it is the most durable out of the three. You can buy both 41mm and 45mm versions from Apple.

Apple Watch Series 7: Band Options

Apple offers dozens of different color/material watch band combinations. They have varying prices, colors, build materials, formality levels, and more. Finding a band from Apple that matches your style(s) is almost guaranteed. However, you could also check out third-party options for cheaper and a wider range of design and color options.

Solo Loop

The Solo Loop, as its name suggests, is a one-piece band. So there’s nothing to buckle and unbuckle every time you put it on. It’s made from silicone and comes in seven different colors. You can choose from English Lavender, Chalk Pink, Marigold, Clover, Dark Cherry, Abyss Blue, and Starlight. When buying it through Apple, there’s a guide on how to choose the perfect size that matches your wrist. You can either print a strip of paper from Apple that’ll guide you. Alternatively, you can create your own strip, using a ruler, which Apple lists the steps of as well. It costs $49 in the US.

    Solo Loop
    The Solo Loop is a one-piece silicone band that comes in colorful variations. You can buy it directly from Apple.

Braided Solo Loop

The Braided Solo Loop is also a one-piece band, but it comes with a more stretchable, braided design. It slips on and off your wrist easily and sits there comfortably. When it comes to materials, this one is made from recycled polyester yarn filaments and silicone threads. There are six color options to choose from — Maize, (PRODUCT)RED, Dark Cherry, English Lavender, Abyss Blue, and Pride Edition. It costs $99 in the US.

    Braided Solo Loop
    The Braided Solo Loop is a one-piece woven band that comes in colorful variations and has a stretchable design. You can buy it directly from Apple.

Sport Band

The Sport Band is the classic Apple Watch silicone band. Unlike the Solo Loops, you don’t need to measure your wrist before buying it. And no matter how much weight you lose or gain on your wrists, it’ll always fit. It’s available in fourteen different color options. You can choose from Clover, Marigold, Dark Cherry, English Lavender, Abyss Blue, (PRODUCT)RED, Starlight, Midnight, Black Unity, Olive Gray/Cargo Khaki (Nike Edition), Ember/Crimson Bliss (Nike Edition), Midnight Navy/Mystic Navy (Nike Edition), Anthracite/Black (Nike Edition), and Platinum/Black (Nike Edition). It costs $49 in the US.

The Sport Loop is made from woven nylon and offers a hook-and-loop fastener. It is easy to put on, cushions the skin, and allows moisture to pass through. It’s available in nine different color options. You can choose from Maize/White, Pink Pomelo/Tan, Abyss Blue/Moss Green, Dark Cherry/Forest Green, (PRODUCT)RED, Tornado/Gray, Cargo Khaki (Nike Edition), Summit White (Nike Edition), and Black (Nike Edition). It costs $49 in the US.

Nylon

The Nylon bands are Hermès exclusives, and, as you’d expect, they come with an Hermès price tag. They’re available in two different color options. You can choose from Kraft/Orange Jumping Single Tour and Kraft/Lime Jumping Single Tour. Each costs a mere $319 in the US.

Leather

The Leather bands come in a variety of shapes, sizes, colors, and price tags. There are twenty one options in total to choose from. They start at $99 and go to a whopping $849 in the US. Leather bands offer a more premium and professional look than other silicone and nylon ones. Some of them are Hermès exclusives, thus the high price.

Stainless Steel

The Stainless Steel bands come in two different models — Milanese Loops and Link Bracelets. The former is available in Gold, Silver, and Graphite, while the latter comes in Silver and Space Black. Their prices start at $99 and $349 in the US respectively. Apple also sells a Link Bracelet kit in case you lose any links on your Silver or Space Black Link Bracelet bands and want to add more.

Apple Watch Studio

If you’d like to create your own style by picking a case and choosing a specific band to go with it, the Apple Store offers an Apple Watch Studio online tool just for that. So now you can mix and match however you like!

This tool allows you to pick the casing size, material, and color. Then you are asked to choose a band to go with. You are shown live photos of what the final combo will look like. Once you’re done, you get to buy it in the configuration you’ve chosen. Apple will also save your style on the browser, in case you want to design your watch but buy it later on.

It’s worth mentioning that some special edition Watches are made out of specific materials. The Nike Edition, for example, is only available in Aluminum. So you can’t buy one made out of Stainless Steel. Similarly, The Hermès Edition only comes in Stainless Steel. The regular Apple Watch is available in all three materials — Aluminum, Stainless Steel, and Titanium — even though Apple markets the Titanium version as an Edition Watch.

Anker’s latest charger and cable significantly reduce petroleum-based plastic usage

With the iPhone 14 launch right around the corner, Anker has announced a new fast charger and charging cable for the upcoming devices. The new charger and cable are part of Anker’s new eco-friendly accessory lineup and include innovations that significantly reduce petroleum-based plastic usage.

The new Anker Nano 3 is a 30W charger that’s more compact than previous models in the Nano lineup and, therefore, uses less plastic. The Bio-based charging cable, on the other hand, utilizes plant-based materials to reduce plastic usage.

The new Anker Nano 3 is significantly more compact than the previous-gen Nano 2 and uses 30.9g less plastic, despite offering the same charging speeds. It’s 70% smaller than Apple’s original 30W charging brick, and it’s even a bit more affordable.

Priced at just $22, the Anker Nano 3 is a great alternative to the original 30W charger from Apple, and you should order one right away if you’re planning to pick up a new iPhone. Android 13 Custom ROM List: Unofficially update your Android smartphone!

Android 13 is making the rounds everywhere now. If you have a recent-ish Google Pixel smartphone, you should already have your taste of the latest iteration of Android. This update to Android may be considered incremental in nature, but that in no way diminishes the improvements it brings to the table. Nonetheless, unless you have a supported Google Pixel device or one of the few non-Google smartphones with a “Developer Preview” program, there’s a very good chance that you will have to wait for a few months to have your OEM send across the latest dessert onto your phone.

This is where XDA’s developer community comes in — groups of talented individuals working together to achieve the common cause of getting the latest Android onto devices before the OEM can, and in many cases, because the OEM can’t.

With a large number of official as well as unofficial builds of Android 13-based custom ROMs popping up, we felt it would be a good idea to create an index of devices that have Android 13 ports available for them. Do note that these are aftermarket builds and some will very likely contain bugs. Please read the first few posts of each linked thread so you know the current status of the build before flashing it on your phone.

Note: In this article, we will only be providing a link to the first Android 13 custom ROM that we come across for a particular device in our forums. This does not serve as an endorsement of that particular build, nor are we suggesting that the work of others should be ignored. We are limiting what we link to in order to prevent this article from becoming too lengthy. Samsung rolls out One UI 4.1.1 with new multitasking features to the Galaxy Tab S7 lineup

After rolling out One UI 4.1.1 based on Android 12L to its Galaxy Tab S8 series and a bunch of older foldables, Samsung has now released the update for the older Galaxy Tab S7 series. It brings all the new multitasking features and improvements for large-screen devices that Samsung debuted with the Galaxy Z Fold 4 last month, including the new Taskbar.

Samsung has officially shared the One UI 4.1.1 changelog for the Galaxy Tab S7 and Galaxy Tab S7 Plus. According to user reports on Reddit, the update has already started rolling out in some regions. If you haven’t received it yet, you should get the update in the next few days.

One UI 4.1.1 for the Galaxy Tab S7 and Galaxy Tab S7 Plus brings a host of new multitasking features. It includes a new Taskbar for quicker navigation between apps, opening apps in split-screen view or a pop-up window, and launching frequently-used app pairs in split-screen mode. In addition, the update brings new multitasking gestures, an OCR feature to extract text from images, and the ability to add custom call backgrounds to contacts.

Furthermore, One UI 4.1.1 brings optimizations for the My Files app, Samsung Keyboard, and Samsung Internet browser. Lastly, the update also includes the Android security patches for August 2022. Check out the full changelog by following the source link provided below.

Apple could announce a new low-end Apple Watch during September 7 event

Ahead of Apple’s September “Far Out” event, a new report has emerged that states that the company will introduce a new lost-cost Apple Watch. While we have seen numerous reports about a new high-end Apple Watch, this is the first time this information is coming to light in relation to this event. Although the price was not mentioned, the new watch should arrive priced lower than the Apple Watch SE.

According to the New York Times, in a piece about why the Apple Watch is becoming more important for parents and children, a source revealed that Apple could introduce a new version of the Apple Watch that will be cheaper than the SE model. Currently, there are five models of the Apple Watch. The base model, the Series 3, was introduced nearly five years ago in 2017. Despite the watch’s age, it has remained in the lineup by being the company’s cheapest model, coming in at $199. If the information from the New York Times is accurate, the Series 3 could be replaced since it is currently the cheapest model available, and it sits below the SE variant. This would make sense considering that Series 3 will no longer receive software support going forward. With the announcement of watchOS 9, it was revealed that Apple would not be supporting the Watch Series 3 with the new update.

By replacing its lowest-tier model, Apple could be in a position to improve the experience by offering an updated SoC and maybe even including cellular connectivity. While that last feature is a tall order, if it does manage to add it to its base model Apple Watch, it could offer Family Setup on the unit, which is not currently available on the Watch Series 3. If the replacement for the Series 3 or a new low-end tier is announced, this could be one of Apple’s largest smartwatch release lineups to date. Of course, when questioned, Apple declined to comment about the upcoming event and the possible products that could be launched. Luckily, we won’t have to wait long, as the Apple event is scheduled for September 7, where the company will most likely announce the Apple Watch Series 8, a Pro model, and the SE 2.

Notification updates

Apart from the major Lock Screen redesign, Apple is changing how notifications appear on iOS 16. Instead of coming through from the top, they’re now focused at the bottom. Additionally, users get to view them as a list, stack, or as a mere number. This makes the Lock Screen a cleaner space that isn’t as cluttered with spammy notification banners. It also concentrates on the wallpaper and new widgets. iOS 16 also support Live Activities — which are basically persistent notifications for relevant, ongoing events.

Focus enhancements

In the collaboration department, Messages gets some love, as well. Users can now use SharePlay through iMessage — not just FaceTime. Mail starts to catch up

Users can now undo-send fresh emails, schedule drafts to auto-send later on, get follow-up reminders, and more. The search bar also gets a boost — introducing richer results and an auto-correct functionality for misspelled search terms, Last but not least, Mail will now remind you to attach a document if you attempt to send the email without including it. Gmail has had a similar feature for a while now. It’s refreshing to see Apple catching up — even if slowly.
